Print Mixing and Wine Time

I love a good print mix up and Trina Turk is the master of mixing it up (martini please!). When in Palm Springs years ago, I spotted her clothing and was instantly drawn to her cool Cali style.

Her bold prints and play with color are infused in all her designs that include ready-to-wear and accessories, plus swimwear, footwear, handbags, jewelry, eyewear, a Mr Turk menswear line, and residential décor and textiles.

I'm wearing a pair of silk wide leg pants and tropical print top from this seasons collection. By adding a black sequin blazer (found in my closet) this outfit is transformed into a perfect summer evening outfit.

Or, without the jacket, it's the perfect hot weather ensemble. Wear it to lunch with friends or to sit in an outdoor cafe and sipping a glass of rose from the Howard Street Wine shop where we are shooting.

I grabbed this darling Fendi mini-baguette from my purse collection which is perfect  for holding lipstick and a credit card.  Seriously - but it is so cute!  Every season Fendi features several baguettes and the mini-baguette (or really a croissant!). If this seasons baguettes are out of your budget,  you can find previous season baguettes on eBay, the Real Real and other designer resale sites for much more reasonable prices.  Fendi baguettes are always colorfully embellished and a fun addition to your bag collection.

I was fortunate to shoot this on-location at the fabulous Howard Street Wine store (adjacent to the French restaurant Bouillon in Omaha (in the Old Market area). Here the wine is eclectic and well edited. Ask them to help you find a wine and they will do it with pleasure.  In a word - it's amazing, My favorite is the excellent selection of Rose wines.  You can shop their selection of Roses and more on-line here.

Hmmm, yeah...sitting back, sipping wine on a hot summer afternoon is the perfect end to this post!

Stylingwise tip:  Mixing prints is not for the faint of heart.  Stick within a designer's season collection like Trina Turk or Alice and Olivia.  They are paid experts!  Shop the look below
